In hon­or of this day, we con­nect­ed with QMG Gyne­col­o­gist Dr. Deb­o­rah Woodard to learn how her heart was drawn to mis­sion work and how the expe­ri­ence has impact­ed her per­son­al­ly and pro­fes­sion­al­ly as a physi­cian in our community.

We con­tin­ue our con­ver­sa­tion on Pride Month. Today, we hear from Saman­tha Car­rell, Patient Excel­lence Rep­re­sen­ta­tive at QMG, on what this month means to her and the impor­tance of shar­ing her sto­ry to reach others.

We con­tin­ue the con­ver­sa­tion on Pride Month this week as we hear from QMG Behav­ioral Health Ther­a­pist Macy Fer­gu­son-Smith. Fer­gu­son-Smith shared that Pride Month is an impor­tant time to hon­or those who came before her and led the way, allow­ing her to be her authen­tic self.

Through­out Pride Month we want­ed to hear from mem­bers of our QMG Fam­i­ly. We had the oppor­tu­ni­ty to chat with Patience Excel­lence Coor­di­na­tor Will Hill and learn more about what Pride Month means to him and why inclu­sive health­care is impor­tant for the LGBTQ+ community.

Gen­der-affir­ma­tion care refers to treat­ments that sup­port a trans­gen­der or non­bi­na­ry per­son in their gen­der tran­si­tion. This care involves a team of health­care pro­fes­sion­als, includ­ing an endocrinologist.

For Dr. Kurt Leim­bach, Inter­nal Med­i­cine physi­cian at Quin­cy Med­ical Group (QMG), the top­ic of men­tal health is an ongo­ing con­ver­sa­tion among his fam­i­ly. His per­son­al expe­ri­ence has led him to share his sto­ry in hopes of help­ing oth­er fam­i­lies just like his.

Imag­ine one of the hap­pi­est times of your life also being the worst. For Alli­son Stults, that’s what hap­pened. In Feb­ru­ary of 2021, at 15 weeks preg­nant, she was diag­nosed with ovar­i­an cancer.

Just over two years ago, Aman­da and Che’ Humphrey wel­comed their first child, Alice. She is a hap­py, active tod­dler today. You wouldn’t know that she had a scary start to life, but her par­ents won’t soon for­get that day and the per­son who saved her life.

Beth Coop­er is a cer­ti­fied reg­is­tered nurse anes­thetist (CRNA) at the QMG Surgery Cen­ter. Her job involves pro­vid­ing direct anes­the­sia care to patients for all the sur­gi­cal ser­vices pro­vid­ed at the surgery cen­ter. She shared more about what makes her time with patients special.
