Quincy Medical Group (QMG) proudly announces the opening of the QMG Birth Center, the first facility of its kind in the region offering a dedicated, midwifery-led model of care.
“In keeping with our commitment to QMG’s mission of truly transforming care for the tri-states, we are pleased to open our Birth Center,” said Carol Brockmiller, President of QMG. “We’re proud to introduce this unique birthing experience led by the area’s first two certified nurse midwives, whose extensive experience ensures the high-quality care that an expectant mother wants. Developed in collaboration with our OB-GYN physicians, this birthing alternative is another step toward providing cost-effective, patient-centered care that defines QMG.”
The Birth Center provides a supportive, home-like environment where certified nurse midwives deliver comprehensive services for women at every stage, ranging from gynecologic services to prenatal, birth, and postpartum care.
Located beside the QMG Surgery Center and Cancer Institute at 3301 Broadway St. on the Quincy Town Center campus, the facility features three private birthing suites, tubs for water births, a welcoming waiting area, and open space designed to encourage movement and comfort throughout labor.
“We created the Birth Center to offer patients an inviting environment with access to the full scope of midwifery care, whether that’s a routine gynecology visit or support during pregnancy and birth,” said Ashley Stroot, APRN, CNM, WHNP-BC, Certified Nurse Midwife at QMG. “It’s a place where patients can receive personalized, evidence-based care in a way that feels calm, safe, and aligned with their needs.”
Reflecting QMG’s commitment to women’s health, the Birth Center provides patients with another option for care, combining midwife expertise with a setting designed to support patients through all aspects of their health and care.
“Our midwives bring an incredible depth of knowledge and experience to the care they provide,” said Katy Wand, MD, obstetrician/gynecologist at QMG and medical director of the QMG Birth Center. “This center allows patients to experience that care in a setting designed for both patient-focused support and clinical excellence.”
