Those who not only guide teams through dai­ly oper­a­tions but also inspire con­fi­dence, trust, and growth. This year, one leader stands out for her steady com­mit­ment to her team, her patients, and the val­ues that define QMG.

As a leader with­in QMG’s Ambu­la­to­ry Surgery Cen­ter (ASC), she has become the steady force that keeps every­thing mov­ing for­ward. Wide­ly referred to by her team as the ​“glue” or even the ​“Der­mabond” of the ASC, this leader ensures seam­less dai­ly oper­a­tions while main­tain­ing a calm, safe, and sup­port­ive envi­ron­ment. She leads from the front, step­ping in clin­i­cal­ly with­out hes­i­ta­tion and mod­el­ing team­work by nev­er ask­ing her team to do any­thing she wouldn’t do herself.

It is with great pride that we hon­or Aimee O., QMG Surgery Cen­ter Man­ag­er, with the 2025 Lead­er­ship Excel­lence Award. Aimee is deeply trust­ed across all dis­ci­plines, often serv­ing as the first per­son staff and providers turn to for guid­ance and sup­port. Shau­na H., Exec­u­tive Direc­tor of Nurs­ing Oper­a­tions, shared, ​“Aimee is the heart of our ASC. She leads with humil­i­ty, strength, and an unwa­ver­ing com­mit­ment to patient care and team well­be­ing. Aimee is a leader who doesn’t just excel, she ele­vates every­one around her.”

Aimee’s impact is felt most in the moments that mat­ter. On high-vol­ume days, she seam­less­ly sup­ports mul­ti­ple rooms, trou­bleshoots issues in real time, and main­tains patient flow with­out miss­ing a beat. She is known as the first respon­der to any chal­lenge, whether it’s equip­ment, sched­ul­ing, work­flow, or patient needs, and she notices when a team mem­ber is over­whelmed, qui­et­ly step­ping in to offer sup­port or light­en the load.

Beyond oper­a­tions, Aimee is an excep­tion­al men­tor who teach­es, coach­es, and encour­ages growth in every team mem­ber. She fos­ters a cul­ture of account­abil­i­ty, safe­ty, and con­nec­tion, reg­u­lar­ly check­ing on staff’s well­be­ing, cel­e­brat­ing mile­stones, and cre­at­ing an envi­ron­ment where peo­ple feel seen, val­ued, and sup­port­ed.
