Behind every cancer diagnosis is a person — a neighbor, a friend, a family member — whose world has been turned upside down. In moments like these, community matters most. That’s the heart of the Quincy Medical Group (QMG) Foundation’s Cancer Crush event, where every ticket purchased and every dollar raised helps ease the financial burden for local families navigating cancer.
Tickets are now on sale for this year’s Cancer Crush, taking place Friday, April 3, at The Ambiance in Quincy. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. All proceeds directly benefit local cancer patients by helping cover everyday expenses such as housing, utilities, and transportation, allowing them to focus on their health and recovery.
“There is something truly special about the way this community shows up for one another,” said Morgan Parker, QMG’s Director of Community Relations and Foundation. “When we gather for Cancer Crush, we’re not just raising funds, we’re surrounding local families with support and encouragement when they need it most. As we approach the $1 million milestone, it’s a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together.”
The evening will feature food, games, live music, and both silent and live auctions, creating a fun and meaningful night for everyone in attendance.
A highlight of the event is the Country Adventure Raffle, which includes a two-night stay at an Airbnb condo in downtown Nashville, four tickets to CMA Fest on Saturday, June 6, a $100 gift card to Boyer’s Boot N Shoe, two pairs of Ariat® boots and one pair of Durango® boots courtesy of Boyer’s Boot N Shoe, and one bottle of Nearest Green Tennessee Whiskey.
Now in its 12th year, Cancer Crush is approaching a remarkable milestone — nearly $1 million raised to directly support cancer patients in our community. To date, the event has generated $888,400 to help cover everyday expenses such as housing, utilities, and transportation, allowing patients to focus on their health and recovery.
Buzz Off Cancer has been part of Cancer Crush since 2018, bringing together participants — known as “buzzees” — who shave their heads in solidarity with those facing cancer. This year, the event will also feature Hair for a Cause, where community members can donate their hair to be made into wigs for cancer patients. Participants include Andrew Hogan, Summer Goings, Washington and Jared Tipton, and Kiana Reed.
