The Quincy Medical Group (QMG) Foundation is proud to announce that the 26th Annual Bridge the Gap to Health Race raised more than $70,000 to support individuals and families across the region.
A portion of this year’s proceeds will support the renovation of the visitation space at Connect Child & Family Solutions, located at 435 Hampshire St. in Quincy. The redesigned space will create a welcoming, family-centered environment where children can maintain meaningful connections with their parents during the foster care process. Families will have space to share meals, play, talk, and simply spend time together — supporting approximately 960 visits each year.
“Every mile participants ran this year represents a step toward bringing this vision to life,” said Morgan Parker, Director of Community Relations and the Foundation at QMG. “This space is about more than a renovation. It is about creating a place where a child feels safe to play, where a family can sit together around a table, and where parents and children can continue building memories during an important chapter of their lives.”
Beyond supporting the Connect visitation space, race proceeds will also support the QMG Foundation’s Community Impact Fund, which provides financial assistance to patients facing a health event and funds grants for local nonprofits and schools in the areas of community development, health initiatives, and youth programs. The Foundation will soon open the Bridge the Gap grant application window for capital projects aligned with these priorities.
“The impact of Bridge the Gap reaches far beyond the finish line on race day,” added Parker. “What starts as a morning of running and walking becomes something much bigger; it becomes a renovated space where families reconnect, grants that strengthen local organizations, and support that helps our neighbors through difficult moments. Every participant, sponsor, volunteer, and donor plays a role in creating meaningful change.”
The success of Bridge the Gap would not be possible without the hundreds of runners, walkers, volunteers, sponsors, and community members who continue to show up year after year. Together, we are bridging the gaps — today and for the future.
