The Quincy Medical Group Foundation’s Bridge the Gap to Health Race will return for its 27th year on Saturday, May 8, 2027, continuing its tradition of bringing the community together for a cause that strengthens and uplifts local families.
For the third year, the Bridge the Gap to Health Race will support a local organization through its Bridge the Gap Grant, which funds capital projects that enhance health initiatives, youth programs, and community development. This year, the Foundation is proud to partner with Quincy Children’s Museum, an organization dedicated to sparking imaginations and nurturing potential in every child.
“Quincy Children’s Museum exists to transform the lives of children and families through experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, connection, and discovery,” said Amy Peters, Executive Director of Quincy Children’s Museum. “We are incredibly grateful for the continued partnership and support from the QMG Foundation. Their investment in Quincy Children’s Museum has helped us make the museum more accessible to families through Museums for All, and now this partnership will help bring two new hands-on exhibits to life. These spaces will give children the opportunity to learn, explore, and imagine themselves in roles that help care for and strengthen our community.”
The 2027 Bridge the Gap Grant will support the development and installation of two hands-on exhibits within their permanent site: the Medical Education and Discovery Science (MEDS) Exhibit and the First Responders Exhibit. These interactive spaces will give children opportunities to explore health, medicine, science, and emergency services through imaginative play and interactive discovery while introducing them to important careers and community helpers.
The partnership between the QMG Foundation and Quincy Children’s Museum extends beyond the Bridge the Gap Grant. For the past three years, the Foundation has provided funding for the museum’s Museums for All initiative, helping make the museum more accessible to local families through half-priced admission and memberships for qualifying families, as well as subsidized rates for field trips.
“Quincy Children’s Museum has been such a great partner in our community, and we’re excited to continue showing up alongside them,” said Morgan Parker, Director of Community Relations and Foundation at Quincy Medical Group. “The Foundation is about more than writing checks. It’s about building relationships, being present, and finding ways we can help make our community stronger. We’re excited to see what these new exhibits will mean for kids and families who walk through the museum’s doors.”
The Bridge the Gap to Health Race, a beloved community tradition, gives participants the chance to run or walk across the Quincy bridges while supporting and strengthening our local community.
In addition to supporting Quincy Children’s Museum, a portion of the funds raised from the race will also support the QMG Foundation’s ongoing efforts to provide financial assistance to patients facing a health event and fund grants for local nonprofits and schools in the areas of community development, health initiatives, and youth programs.
