Stacia Briscoe, FNP‑C, has been caring for patients as a Family Nurse Practitioner at QMG for nearly two decades. She sees patients at our Kahoka clinic, where her work goes beyond routine care — supporting and guiding patients to feel their very best.
Q: What’s your job here at QMG? How long have you worked here?
A: Family Nurse Practitioner in Rural Health. I have worked in this position for nearly 17 years.
Q: What first sparked your interest in healthcare, and what inspired you to become an Advanced Practice Provider?
A: I have always had a desire to help people. In high school, I took a CNA class, and I was hooked.
Q: What do you find most meaningful about the work you do each day?
A: I have an interest in lifestyle medicine. My favorite part of my job is helping patients make changes in their diet and lifestyle to reduce symptoms or improve their labs and overall health. It is so satisfying to help them set goals, achieve those goals, and feel better.
Q: What’s one lesson you’ve learned from your patients?
A: Most people simply want to be heard. Taking the time to listen to their concerns and acknowledge those concerns often means more than identifying the cause.
Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work, or what’s your favorite way to recharge?
A: Hiking. I could spend hours on a trail to see one beautiful view. This is the best way to recharge my mind, body, and soul.
Q: What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
A: I have a motorcycle license and used to own and ride a Harley. I sold it after having the kids.
