On Saturday, May 10, Quincy Medical Group (QMG) Foundation will host the annual Bridge the Gap to Health Race. Safety is a top priority for the event. To ensure the safety of participants, spectators, and volunteers, the following streets will be closed or reduced to one lane.
Streets closed from 4:00 am to 11:30 am:
- Front Street from Jersey to Broadway
- Bonansinga from Cedar to Broadway
- 2nd Street from Maine to Cedar
- Broadway from 3rd to Bonansinga
- Vermont from 3rd to Front Street
- Hampshire from 3rd to Front Street
- Cedar Street from 3rd Street to Bonansinga Drive
- Bonansinga Drive from Cedar to Kochs Lane
Streets closed from 6:00 am to 9:00 am:
- South lane of the Bayview Bridge
- North lane of the Memorial Bridge
- North lanes of Maine from the Memorial Bridge to 4th Street
- Maine Street from 3rd to 18th Street **
- Hampshire from 3rd Street to 5th Street
- 5th Street between Maine and Hampshire
- 3rd Street between Broadway and Maine (6:30 am – 9:00 am) **
- 4th Street between Broadway and Maine (6:30 am — 9:00 am) **
**PLEASE NOTE: Please note that these closures may impact travel more significantly. Motorists will need to use 18th Street or a route further east to cross Maine Street. Southbound traffic on 3rd Street from Broadway will be directed across the Bayview Bridge and then back via the Memorial Bridge. Northbound traffic on Gardner Expressway will be diverted at Jefferson Street to 18th Street.
Additionally, these routes are marked as no parking zones from 3 a.m. until the race concludes.
In the case of inclement weather, Bridge the Gap to Health Committee members will work closely with the Adams County Emergency Management Agency to determine the best option for participant and volunteer safety.
