Hel­lo, My name is Angela Dun­can I am a Nurse Prac­ti­tion­er at the QMG Can­cer Insti­tute. I strive to encour­age my patients efforts to pre­serve their hopes and con­fi­dences by encour­ag­ing them to express and com­mu­ni­cate how they feel when diag­nosed with a life-threat­en­ing ill­ness. They all respond in dif­fer­ent ways to their diag­noses. Many of our patients have favor­able prog­noses. But, there are many obsta­cles that can be daunt­ing, just the per­cep­tion of fac­ing the pos­si­bil­i­ty of dying of can­cer and the strug­gles in striv­ing to pre­vent or delay it becomes the fight of their lives. I am hum­bled by my patients as their strug­gles are bound to be filled with fear, des­per­a­tion, and inner anguish. I try to be present and lis­ten as they describe their com­ing to terms with their diag­noses, treat­ments, symp­toms, life after treat­ment and even the pos­si­bil­i­ty of death.

Out­door activ­i­ties, hik­ing, cycling, water sports, gar­den­ing, and spend­ing time with fam­i­ly and friends. I have a pas­sion for old Mus­cle Cars! I pre­fer Corvettes! Always ready for a drive!!
