Free Education Day on Trauma-Informed Parenting

February 18, 2026

Parents and caregivers are invited to attend a free community education event focused on Trauma-Informed Parenting and Identifying ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Quincy Medical Group (QMG), 1025 Maine Street, 1st Floor.

Hosted by QMG, this event is designed to help families better understand how trauma impacts children and provide practical tools to build resilience at home.

The session will be facilitated by Kathleen Nelson, MSEd, LCPC, Behavioral Health Therapist at QMG, who will guide participants through recognizing trauma, understanding ACEs, and discovering strategies to support children’s emotional well-being.

Marissa Radcliffe, Community Health Worker at QMG, who organized the event, shared, Trauma can shape how children think, feel, and respond to the world around them. By learning what ACEs are and how they affect development, parents and caregivers can better support their children and strengthen family relationships.”

The event will include education, hands-on activities, and opportunities for connection. Attendees will leave with practical tools they can use right away to foster emotional well-being and resilience in their families.

This is a free event, but seating is limited. Community members are encouraged to register in advance by calling 217−222−6550, ext. 3697.
