The Quincy Medical Group Foundation’s Bridge the Gap to Health Race will return for its 26th year on Saturday, May 9, 2026, continuing its tradition of bringing the community together for a cause that strengthens and uplifts local families.
Again, this year, the Bridge the Gap to Health Race will support a local organization through its Bridge the Gap Grant, which funds capital projects that enhance health initiatives, youth programs, and community development. This year, the Foundation is proud to partner with Connect Child and Family Solutions, an organization dedicated to supporting children in foster care and their biological families.
“In the five counties Connect serves, there are more than 300 children in foster care — and more needs than resources to meet them,” said Adam Adrian, Executive Director of Connect. “Each child has his or her own story, intricately woven with biological and foster family members, case workers, and more. From the start, we’ve chosen to serve both the child in care, as well as every person that’s a part of his or her story.”
The 2026 Bridge the Gap Grant will support the renovation of Connect’s visitation space at 435 Hampshire St. in Quincy. The redesigned space will provide a welcoming, family-centered environment where children can build and maintain meaningful connections with their parents during the foster care process. The project will create areas for families to share meals, play, and make memories together — supporting approximately 960 family visits each year.
“Through this partnership with Connect, every mile run becomes a step toward healing for local families,” said Morgan Parker, Director of Community Relations and the Foundation at Quincy Medical Group. “Together, we’re bridging the gap — not just mile by mile, but family by family.
The Bridge the Gap to Health Race, which has become a beloved community tradition, offers participants the opportunity to run or walk across the Quincy bridges while supporting and strengthening our local community.
In addition to supporting Connect, a portion of the funds raised from the race will also support the QMG Foundation’s ongoing efforts to provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations that directly impact the community with a focus on community development, health, and youth initiatives.
