Quincy Medical Group Introduces Aquablation® Therapy for Treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

June 16, 2026

Quincy Medical Group (QMG) is pleased to offer Aquablation® therapy for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as an enlarged prostate. The procedure is offered Daniel Schneider, MD, Urologist at QMG.

BPH is a common condition that affects many men as they age. Symptoms can include frequent urination, especially at night, difficulty starting or stopping urination, a weak urine stream, and the feeling that the bladder is not completely empty. These symptoms can interfere with daily activities, sleep, and overall quality of life. BPH affects one out of every two males between the ages of 51 and 60, and an overwhelming 99% of men with BPH report that the condition negatively impacts their overall quality of life.

Aquablation® therapy is the first and only ultrasound-guided, robotic-assisted waterjet treatment for BPH. During the procedure, real-time ultrasound imaging allows the surgeon to view the prostate and create a personalized treatment plan based on the patient’s unique anatomy. The robotic system then precisely removes the targeted tissue, providing a consistent and individualized approach to care.

Men often assume urinary symptoms are simply a normal part of aging, but effective treatment options are available,” said Dr. Schneider. Aquablation® therapy gives us another way to help patients find meaningful, long-term relief from BPH symptoms while minimizing the impact on functions that are important to quality of life.”

Men experiencing symptoms of an enlarged prostate are encouraged to speak with their healthcare provider or a member of the QMG Urology team to learn whether Aquablation® therapy may be an appropriate treatment option.
