QMG Foundation Cancer Crush Tops Fundraising Goal to Help Local Patients

The Quin­cy Med­ical Group (QMG) Foundation’s annu­al Can­cer Crush event, held April 4, gar­nered sig­nif­i­cant com­mu­ni­ty sup­port and raised more than $115,000 to help local can­cer patients with the finan­cial chal­lenges that often come with treatment.

The funds will direct­ly sup­port indi­vid­u­als by cov­er­ing essen­tial liv­ing expens­es such as rent or mort­gage pay­ments, util­i­ties, and trans­porta­tion to treat­ment, offer­ing much-need­ed relief at a time when patients and fam­i­lies need it most.

“This event is about meet­ing patients where they are,” said Mor­gan Park­er, Direc­tor of Com­mu­ni­ty Rela­tions and the Foun­da­tion at QMG. ​“Can­cer doesn’t pause for finan­cial hard­ship. Thanks to the incred­i­ble gen­eros­i­ty of our spon­sors, donors, local busi­ness­es, and atten­dees, we’re able to pro­vide real, mean­ing­ful relief dur­ing an incred­i­bly dif­fi­cult time in someone’s life.”

Park­er expressed grat­i­tude to the team at the QMG Can­cer Insti­tute, not­ing that their com­pas­sion goes beyond med­ical care. Their con­tin­ued sup­port of Can­cer Crush — through dona­tions, par­tic­i­pa­tion, and advo­ca­cy — demon­strates the mean­ing­ful rela­tion­ships they build with patients. Park­er said their pas­sion plays a vital role in advanc­ing the mis­sion and ensur­ing that patients feel sup­port­ed and val­ued both with­in the clin­ic and through­out the community.

“Rais­ing over $115,000 is a moment we’re incred­i­bly proud of, but the heart of Can­cer Crush is in the sto­ries — the patients who can stay in their homes, keep their lights on, and make it to treat­ment because of this sup­port,” Park­er added. ​“This impact stretch­es far beyond a sin­gle night — it lasts all year.”
