The Quincy Medical Group (QMG) Foundation’s annual Cancer Crush event, held April 4, garnered significant community support and raised more than $115,000 to help local cancer patients with the financial challenges that often come with treatment.
The funds will directly support individuals by covering essential living expenses such as rent or mortgage payments, utilities, and transportation to treatment, offering much-needed relief at a time when patients and families need it most.
“This event is about meeting patients where they are,” said Morgan Parker, Director of Community Relations and the Foundation at QMG. “Cancer doesn’t pause for financial hardship. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, donors, local businesses, and attendees, we’re able to provide real, meaningful relief during an incredibly difficult time in someone’s life.”
Parker expressed gratitude to the team at the QMG Cancer Institute, noting that their compassion goes beyond medical care. Their continued support of Cancer Crush — through donations, participation, and advocacy — demonstrates the meaningful relationships they build with patients. Parker said their passion plays a vital role in advancing the mission and ensuring that patients feel supported and valued both within the clinic and throughout the community.
“Raising over $115,000 is a moment we’re incredibly proud of, but the heart of Cancer Crush is in the stories — the patients who can stay in their homes, keep their lights on, and make it to treatment because of this support,” Parker added. “This impact stretches far beyond a single night — it lasts all year.”
