Locally Grown to Build and Shelter

 

The Quincy Medical Group Healthcare Foundation is pleased to announ

ce that the Locally Grown to Build and Shelter event, which took place on July 9, has raised $105,200 for the emergency shelter project. A check presentation was held on Thursday, August 5 at the former Inman Gallery (the future site of the emergency shelter).

“The Salvation Army is challenged each day to meet the basic needs of people in crisis,” said Aric Sharp, CEO of Quincy Medical Group. “The QMG Healthcare Foundation is thankful for the support and donations of the community, especially Blessing Hospital and Clinical Radiologist, SC, that made this event possible.”

The Quincy Salvation Army's mission is to bring about positive changes in lives by meeting spiritual and physical needs. The Salvation Army provides a hand up, not a hand out in helping others. Proceeds from this event will benefit the renovation & expansion of the new Emergency Shelter & Family Services facility.

Join the Quincy Medical Group Foundation and enjoy an evening with friends while lending a hand to the Quincy Salvation Army. Doors open at 6:00 pm, the silent auction begins and the Salvation Army Brass Band welcomes guests to the Ambiance. Dinner includes selections from the local master gardeners and the Illinois Pork Producers. Over dinner, enjoy the blues-based rock and calypso rhythms of local favorite, Adrian Bartholomew. A brief video sharing the stories of local members of the community helped by the Emergency Shelter and Family services programs will illustrate why we have come together to help the Quincy Salvation Army. Finally at 8:30 pm the silent auction ends and live auction, emceed by Dr. George Crickard, III, begins. Auction items will be available for viewing on July 1, online at www.quincymedgroup.com and www.salvationarmyquincy.org.
